      How To Integrate EcoCart with your ERP or 3PL

      EcoCart is situated in your Shopify store as a digital product. This may required a merchant to adjust

      If you are using a 3PL or Fulfillment system with Shopify  follow the steps below to ensure these systems work correctly with EcoCart.

      Note: This only applies to Shopify merchants. If you are utilizing the EcoCart API please reach out to EcoCart support. 

      1. After the EcoCart app is installed, create a test or draft order
      2. Track the order through to fulfillment
      3. If EcoCart is properly fulfilled in Shopify, everything is working!
      4. If the order will not process, work with your Fulfillment System or 3PL to resolve using one of the following strategies:
        • Blacklist/Ignore the EcoCart product
        • Mark EcoCart as a digital product

      How to Blacklist EcoCart from your 3PL/Fulfillment System

      Blacklisting involves defining which SKU’s should be blocked from entering their ERP/WMS. 

      Connect with the person/team who manages your 3PL or Fulfillment system and have them follow these steps:

      1. Log in to your 3PL or Fulfillment system
      2. Create SKU id's for all 100 variants that are created by EcoCart in your product catalog.
        • Depending on how your fulfillment workflow is setup it may be more simple to use the same ID for all 100 variants
        • Your ERP/3PL may also require you to blacklist by product rather than variant. If this is the case you can likely leave the ID blank.
      1. Blacklist all of the SKUs to your 3PL or Fulfillment system

      Note: if the order is completed and EcoCart does not show as fulfilled a day later, it's blocked and may requires extra steps.

      How to Mark EcoCart as a Digital Product

      This involves marking EcoCart as a digital product like an E-gift card. E-gift cards are NON-Shippable, NON-Inventory items. 

      Connect with the person/team who manages your 3PL or Fulfillment system and have them follow these steps:

      1. Log in to your 3PL or Fulfillment system
      2. Upload your product SKU's manually if your ERP/3PL does not create products automatically from your Shopify catalog. 
        • If you are using the same ID for all 100 variants you should only need mark 1 product as digital.
      1. Mark all of the SKUs as digital products that are non-shippable goods to your 3PL or Fulfillment system

      Note: In Shopify, there is no SKU requirement. You can keep the SKU names blank or replace it with anything you wish to set. Additionally, you can even set all SKUs to be CARBON1, so you only have to blacklist/match 1 SKU.
